U1 chip - The focus of the tech community. What's our focus?

One of our favourite YouTube channels, Max Tech, were an interesting watch in the lead up to the Apple Event on October 13th 2020. Following the October event, speculation is now for a November Apple Event to see the release of Apple AirTag. We have been eagerly awaiting the launch since rumours of AirTag started to surface in April 2019.

The excitement around the U1 chip is the focus of the tech community.

Reported by 9to5Mac, “Apple is expected to use the U1 chip to provide the precise location of devices, even offline. AirTags are supposed to be a small tag that you can attach to any object like your backpack or even a car to keep track of it using Apple’s Find My network.”

Wairco are entering the online discussion to embrace tracking technology for people, and not just for tracking stuff. We see value when those people are are vulnerable, and can gain security from devices such as AirTag. Many of us already wear an Apple Watch, carry an iPhone, and have the ability to be located through the Find My network - AirTag will add more options for families.

Wairco’s product design to date has been focused on creating an AirTag accessory that cannot be easily removed by children, elderly folks with cognitive disabilities, or pets. Our mission is to bring a new level of comfort, security and peace of mind to Apple customers.
